    Biography

    Kate is a senior at Stanford University majoring in Biology with a concentration in Neurosciences. Since April 2024, she has worked as a research assistant in the Heifets Lab, where she is currently investigating how serotonin signaling modulates dopamine release. Kate is interested in studying the neural & molecular mechanisms underlying addiction, the therapeutic potential of classic psychedelics like psilocybin, and the neuroscience behind altered states of consciousness such as dreams and psychedelic experiences. Outside of lab, Kate enjoys spending time outdoors, martial arts, reading, playing music, and the beach.
