Biography
Dr. Wilkerson is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist whose path to psychology was shaped by more than a decade of service as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, including combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He completed doctoral training through the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium, where his clinical and research focus centered on evidence-based treatment for Veterans and military populations.
Dr. Wilkerson joined the Heifets Lab as a university affiliate, facilitating research into the novel use of anesthesia medications to treat trauma-related nightmares in individuals with PTSD. His broader research interests lie in expanding access to psychedelic-assisted therapies for Veterans and first responders — populations he views as underserved by existing treatments and for whom emerging interventions hold particular promise.
